Adam Lupton
Too Sure of the Sun
Adam Lupton’s palette is deliberately restricted to two spectral hues and their tonal variations. Working exclusively with red and blue—colors that evoke emotional extremes—Lupton creates scenes of contemporary urban life that at first appear serene and idyllic. His paintings possess a distinctly cinematic quality, yet behind the composed interiors, striking portraits, and urban vistas, subtle fissures open to reveal existential depths.
Published to coincide with the artist’s first exhibition at Galerie Judin, this monograph brings together paintings from the past three years and features an introductory essay by art critic and journalist Laura Helena Wurth.
